Jagat Shiromani Temple

Carved Krishna temple of 1599 with the Meera Bai image — Amer town.

Jagat Shiromani in Amer town was built by Kanakwati, queen of Man Singh I, in memory of their son Jagat Singh, and finished in 1608. It is the most carved temple of the old capital, with a marble torana at the gate and a mandapa of carved pillars; the black Krishna image is held to be the one Meera Bai worshipped at Chittor.
