The Temples of Jaipur

Govind Dev Ji, Birla Mandir, Galtaji and Moti Dungri are on the Places pages; these are the rest — the hill temples, the walled-city shrines, Amer’s temples and the Jain temples.

The city was planned around its temples: Govind Dev Ji in the palace garden, Garh Ganesh on the hill above, the Vaishnava shrines of the chaupars. Amer keeps the older ones — Shila Devi inside the fort, Jagat Shiromani in the town — and the hills hold Galtaji, the Sun Temple and Khole ke Hanuman Ji. The Jain temples of Sanganer, Padampura and Chulgiri are places of pilgrimage for the community. Each page says what the temple is and when it is busiest.
