Beyond the forts and palaces, Jaipur has a second set of places that most visitors miss: the Mughal-style gardens the maharajas built on the Agra road and in the Kanak valley, the cenotaphs of the kings and queens below Nahargarh, the stepwells of Amer, and the city’s own parks — Ram Niwas Garden of 1868, Central Park, Jawahar Circle, Smriti Van and the restored dunes of Kishan Bagh.
