The bazaars of the walled city were assigned by trade when the city was planned, and they have mostly kept to it: jewellery in Johari Bazaar, metal and bangles in Tripolia, marble in Chandpole, wood and lac in Kishanpole, jutis and cloth in Bapu and Nehru Bazaar, leather in Ramganj, books in Chaura Rasta. MI Road outside the walls is the fixed-price street, and Sanganer market is the printing town’s own.
Johari Bazaar
The jewellery street of the walled city, from Badi Chaupar to Sanganeri Gate — kundan, meena, polki and loose stones.
Bapu Bazaar
Between Sanganeri Gate and New Gate — mojari jutis, bandhani, quilts and the cloth the visitor takes home.
Nehru Bazaar
From New Gate towards Chandpole — jutis, textiles and the quieter continuation of Bapu Bazaar.
Tripolia Bazaar
From Tripolia Gate to Chhoti Chaupar — brass, copper, ironmongery and the lac bangle lane of Maniharon ka Rasta.
Chandpole Bazaar
From Chhoti Chaupar to Chandpole Gate — marble carving, textiles and the Hanuman temple at the gate.
Kishanpole Bazaar
The north–south bazaar on the Ajmeri Gate side — wood carving, lac work, tie-dye and furniture.
Ramganj Bazaar
The eastern bazaar beyond Badi Chaupar towards Surajpole — jutis, leather, and the Muslim quarter’s own markets.
MI Road Shopping
The glass-front street: emporia, sweet shops, shoe shops and bookshops along Mirza Ismail Road.
Sanganer Market
Printed cloth by the metre and handmade paper from the source, in the printing town south of the city.
Chaura Rasta
The broad street from New Gate to Tripolia — books, stationery, textbooks and the city’s publishers.
