Raj Mandir Cinema

The Art Deco movie palace of 1976 — Bhagwan Das Road, off MI Road.

Raj Mandir is the cinema everyone in India has heard of: a single-screen movie palace opened in 1976, designed by W. M. Namjoshi in a meringue Art Deco, with a foyer of chandeliers and a 1,100-seat hall, still showing the big Hindi releases to full houses. Visitors buy a ticket for the building as much as for the film.
