Jagatpura has grown in the last twenty years from farmland on the south-east of the city into a suburb of universities, engineering colleges and apartment projects. It lies east of Malviya Nagar and north of the airport, along the Jagatpura road and the Agra bypass.
The private universities and colleges are its character: campuses with hostels, and the markets and cafes that students need. The Jagatpura railway station on the Jaipur–Sawai Madhopur line is here, and the suburb is a quick run to the airport.
For a visitor it is a hotel address near the airport and little else; the Jhalana leopard reserve is on its northern edge.
