Sodala & Ajmer Road

The western gateway: the old Sodala village, the Ajmer Road showrooms and the 200-feet bypass.

Sodala is the old village on the Ajmer road just west of Civil Lines, now a dense market locality where the road west leaves the city. Ajmer Road beyond it is the showroom strip: cars, furniture, marble and the big hotels that face the highway.

The 200-feet road (Ajmer Road bypass) crosses here and leads to Vaishali Nagar and Mansarovar, so Sodala is a junction that everyone in the west passes through. The Sodala market is the locality’s own, and the Shyam Nagar colony is beside it.

A visitor sees it as the way to Ajmer, Pushkar and Bagru. The hotels along Ajmer Road are convenient for an early start west.
