The Jaipur Literature Festival began in 2006 as a small event at Diggi Palace and grew into the largest free literary festival in the world, with hundreds of writers and several lakh visitors over five days in late January. It moved its main venue to Hotel Clarks Amer in 2020; the sessions, the music evenings and the book tents are open to anyone who registers.
The festival fills the city’s hotels in the last week of January, and the Jaipur BookMark publishing programme runs alongside it.
