Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas is a Johari Bazaar house with more than a century of trade in polki and kundan jewellery, and one of the names a Jaipur family goes to for a bridal set. The house has since opened showrooms beyond the walled city and in other cities, but the bazaar shop is the original.
It makes in its own workshops, and its polki — uncut diamonds set in gold foil with enamel on the reverse — is the Jaipur style at its most traditional.
