Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar, LMB, is the sweet house of Jaipur: the shop on Johari Bazaar near the Badi Chaupar end claims a history going back to the eighteenth century and has been the city’s name for ghewar, feeni, mishri mawa and mawa kachori for as long as anyone remembers. The vegetarian restaurant behind the sweet counter serves the Rajasthani thali, dal baati churma and the chaat.
It is the one place every visitor to the walled city is sent, and the box of LMB sweets is the Jaipur gift.
